Aldwych Black Round Side Table 42cm – Sculptural GFRC Design

Aldwych Black Round Side Table 42cm

Aldwych Black is a compact round side table with a bold, sculptural form defined by layered, wave-like ridges around the base. Its deep black finish gives the piece a strong contemporary character, while the rounded silhouette keeps the overall look soft and balanced.

At 42cm in diameter and 45.5cm high, Aldwych is well proportioned for use beside a sofa, armchair or lounge chair, providing a practical surface without taking up unnecessary space.

Black Side Table with Sculptural Detail

The defining feature of Aldwych Black is its hand-sculpted ridged surface. The irregular horizontal lines create depth and movement around the cylindrical body, allowing light and shadow to emphasise the texture throughout the day.

Subtle warm metallic highlights along the ridges add further visual depth while preserving the table’s dark, understated appearance.

Compact Round Side Table for Living Rooms

The 42cm diameter makes Aldwych a versatile choice for smaller seating areas as well as larger living rooms. Position it beside a sofa or armchair for a convenient place to hold a drink, book, candle or decorative object.

Its simple round top and sculptural base also allow it to work as an occasional table in a bedroom, study or lounge area.

What is GFRC?

Aldwych Black is made from GFRC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete), a form of concrete reinforced with glass fibres. The material allows for strong, sculptural forms and a substantial concrete-like appearance while offering greater design flexibility than conventional concrete.

GFRC is particularly well suited to textured furniture, making it an ideal material for the layered, wave-like profile of the Aldwych collection.

Protected Surface for Indoor and Outdoor Use

The surface is sealed with a protective topcoat designed to help resist moisture and staining. Aldwych Black is suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings, making it a versatile addition to living rooms, covered terraces, patios and lounge areas.

For outdoor use, protective covers are recommended when the table is not in use and during adverse weather. Dark surfaces can become hot in direct sunlight, so the table is best suited to shaded or covered outdoor areas.

Natural Characteristics of the Material

Each Aldwych Black side table may vary slightly in colour, texture and surface appearance. Minor surface scratches, small imperfections and non-structural hairline cracks can occur naturally within the concrete mix and form part of the material’s individual character.
