Chester Brown Leather Bar Stool with Gold Frame – 74 cm Seat

The Chester Brown Leather Bar Stool brings the generous proportions of an upholstered armchair to elevated kitchen and bar seating. Its curved leather backrest continues into integrated armrests, surrounding the seat with a softly contoured shape. Rich cognac-brown leather is set within a slim, gold-toned stainless steel frame, creating a distinctive contrast between the upholstered upper section and the open metal structure beneath.

With a seat height of 74 cm, Chester is designed for taller kitchen islands, breakfast bars and home bar counters. The upholstered seat, supportive wraparound backrest and integrated footrest make it a considered choice for spaces used for informal dining, morning coffee and evening entertaining.

Genuine brown leather with a curved backrest

The seat and backrest are upholstered in genuine brown leather with a warm, cognac-like colouring. Subtle tonal variation and a gentle surface sheen give the upholstery depth, particularly where the leather curves around the arms and back.

The rounded backrest forms a continuous enclosure around the seated position, with integrated armrests providing additional support. This creates a more substantial, chair-like seating experience than a conventional backless bar stool.

Visible seams define the upholstered sections without interrupting the smooth overall shape. The softly curved front of the seat complements the rounded back, while the leather-covered armrests bring the material into direct contact with the areas used most frequently.

Brown leather is particularly effective in kitchens with natural timber cabinetry, marble worktops and warm neutral finishes. Its rich colouring introduces depth to a pale kitchen scheme and complements darker interiors with walnut or espresso-toned joinery.

Gold-toned stainless steel frame and integrated footrest

The upholstered seat is supported by an open stainless steel frame with a polished gold-toned finish. Its slender vertical supports and clean horizontal lines create a structured contrast with the rounded leather upholstery.

A horizontal footrest provides a convenient place to support the feet while seated. Beneath the stool, the frame incorporates a curved lower element that echoes the contours of the backrest and gives the design a more distinctive profile.

The open construction also allows the surrounding floor and kitchen cabinetry to remain visible, reducing the visual weight of the stool when several are positioned along a substantial island.

The combination of brown leather and gold-toned stainless steel works well with brass-coloured kitchen fittings, dark timber, veined marble and pale natural stone. These contrasting materials allow Chester to feel decorative without requiring elaborate surrounding furniture.

A leather bar stool for kitchen islands and breakfast bars

Chester has a seat height of 74 cm, making it most appropriate for taller kitchen islands and bar counters. For comfortable legroom, allow approximately 25–30 cm between the top of the seat and the underside of the worktop. As a guide, this generally means an underside height of around 99–104 cm.

Before ordering, measure the available clearance beneath your kitchen island or breakfast bar. The stool's integrated armrests and 62 cm overall width should also be considered, particularly if you intend to position several stools side by side or tuck them beneath an overhanging worktop.

At 97 cm high, Chester has the proportions of a compact upholstered bar chair, with a curved backrest that remains visible above most work surfaces. Its armchair-inspired shape makes it well suited to open-plan kitchens where the island is used as a place to sit and spend time rather than simply prepare food.

The stool can also be used at a dedicated home bar, creating a more relaxed seating arrangement for drinks and informal entertaining. Its brown and gold palette provides a natural connection to timber shelving, stone countertops and decorative lighting.

Styling the Chester bar stool in a contemporary kitchen

In a contemporary kitchen, Chester provides a warm contrast against pale marble, quartzite or light-coloured cabinetry. The rich leather brings depth to an otherwise neutral palette, while the gold-toned frame picks up details such as cabinet handles, taps or pendant lighting.

For a more dramatic interior, pair the stool with dark walnut cabinetry, a richly veined stone island or deep brown timber finishes. The leather complements these warmer materials, while the reflective metal introduces a lighter accent.

Chester also works well in modern-classic and Art Deco-inspired spaces. Its curved upholstered silhouette sits comfortably alongside decorative mouldings, polished stone and warm metallic finishes, while the slim frame keeps the design contemporary.

Arranged in a pair or along a larger breakfast bar, the repeated curved backs create a visually cohesive seating area. Each stool retains its individual sculptural form, making the arrangement suitable for kitchens where the seating is intended to remain a visible part of the interior design.
